Crismachem makes a difference as the first Carbon Negative company in the Spanish sector.

At Crismachem, the idea of implementing sustainable practices is integrated in the company's DNA: doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do, based on the idea that a good action based on a good reason generally produces good results over time. It is a compromise between quality and respect. However, they did not know how to implement actions to reduce their carbon footprint. They wanted to differentiate themselves from their competitors, even though the legislation did not require them to take any action, they wanted to demonstrate their positive impact and minimise their environmental footprint as much as possible on their own. They understand the importance of data verification, so they were looking for a solution that would give them that confidence.

Crismachem has obtained the Carbon Footprint Registry Registration Certificate (Scope 1 and 2) in its main activity of distribution of raw materials and chemical specialities. The type of seals obtained, "Calculo" and "Compenso", issued by MITECO, reflect its firm commitment to sustainability, measurement and reduction of environmental impact. In addition, Crismachem has launched a programme to reduce its "Reduzco" footprint and is working on projects to absorb twice the tonnes of CO2 emitted by reforesting hectares of burned forest in Galicia. Crismachem has also initiated the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its products in order to make decisions that reduce their impact.
