What’s new
Consumption invoices in Dcycle now display their associated economic data: the total invoice amount and the currency in which it was issued. This information is captured automatically when invoices are processed, with no manual data entry required.
Until now, Dcycle tracked only consumption data (kWh, liters, cubic meters) and associated emissions. With this update, economic information is also stored, giving you a more complete view of each invoice from a single platform.
How it works
When you upload an electricity, gas, or water invoice, the system automatically extracts the amount and currency from the document. If the invoice is distributed across multiple facilities, the amount is split proportionally based on the percentage assigned to each one.
Economic data appears in each invoice’s detail view alongside the consumption and emissions data you already know. You don’t need to enable anything or change your usual workflow.
We have also performed a historical backfill of economic data for previously processed invoices. This means that over 25,000 existing invoices now have this information available retroactively.
Why it matters
Having economic data alongside environmental data allows you to correlate energy spending with your organization’s emissions. This integrated view supports informed decision-making on energy efficiency and helps identify opportunities for both financial and environmental savings.
Economic information is also useful when preparing internal reports and audits, as you can review the cost associated with each consumption period without relying on external systems.
Waste and logistics recharge invoices do not include economic data at this time, as their source formats do not provide this information in a structured way.
