Move a vehicle to another company without deleting it

Fix a vehicle that was loaded under the wrong company in seconds, keeping all its consumption history and emissions intact.

What changed

Vehicles can now be reassigned to a different company within the same group directly from the Edit vehicle drawer, instead of being deleted and re-uploaded.

  • A new Organization field lets you pick the holding or any of its subsidiaries.
  • The vehicle keeps its consumptions, custom columns and history, and emissions are recalculated under the new company.
  • Moves are top down only: a holding can move vehicles into its subsidiaries, but a subsidiary cannot push vehicles up to its parent or sideways to a sibling. Viewers cannot move vehicles.
  • Safety checks block the move if the target company already has a vehicle with that plate, or if the vehicle is linked to land management.
  • Create vehicle and Edit vehicle always show the owning company, even in subsidiaries with no children.

Why it matters

Cleaning up a bulk upload that landed vehicles at the wrong level of the group now takes seconds, with no data lost and no re-upload. The same rule is available via the API through PATCH /v1/vehicles/{id} with an organization_id parameter.

Where to find it

Go to Data, then Vehicles, open a vehicle and scroll to Organization at the bottom of the drawer. Available for group accounts.
