Consultant, expert software or platform
What changes when LCA stops being a project and becomes a process.
| With consultant or expert software | With Dcycle | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does it | An LCA specialist | Your product team |
| How many products | One per study | The whole catalog |
| How long | Weeks or months per SKU | Days |
| How you pay | Per study and per product | One platform |
| Where the data comes from | Sector averages | Primary data from your suppliers |
| If a supplier changes | Redo the study | Automatic recalculation |
| Relation to your corporate footprint | Separate exercise | Same data |
From inventory to the datasheet your customer asks for
The full product life cycle, connected to the data you already have.
The whole catalog, not one product
Calculate SKUs in parallel, reusing shared materials, processes and suppliers. What you learn from one product carries over to the rest.
Primary data from your suppliers
Ask the actual number from whoever supplies you instead of relying on a sector average. The difference between a defensible number and a guess.
Recognized inventory databases
Industry-recognized inventory databases, kept up to date. Factors are validated and traceable, with no hand-maintained supplier dictionaries.
From raw material to end of life
Extraction, transformation, transport, use and end of life. Define the scope you need for each product.
The format they ask for
Product carbon footprint, customer datasheet, information for your EPD or data for a tender.
Connected to your corporate footprint
The same data feeds your Scope 3 and your product LCAs. Collect once.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an in-house LCA expert?
No. The platform guides each step, builds the inventory from your materials and processes, and applies the database factors. The Dcycle team walks you through the first setup and the scope definition.
How long does the first product take?
Days, not weeks or months. It depends on inventory detail and whether you already have primary data from key suppliers, not on catalog size. From the first product on, each new SKU reuses shared materials, processes and suppliers.
What if I have hundreds of SKUs?
That is exactly the case the platform is built for. Products share materials, processes and suppliers, and Dcycle calculates in parallel by reusing those building blocks. Marginal cost per SKU drops as the catalog grows.
Where do factors and inventory data come from?
From industry-recognized inventory databases, kept up to date, plus the primary data your suppliers contribute through the portal. Every data point keeps its origin: dataset, version and date, and validator.
What if a supplier doesn’t share their number?
The platform applies the most appropriate sector factor with a clear data-quality flag. Your auditor and your customer always see which part of the calculation is primary and which is estimated. Year over year, the share of primary data grows as more suppliers join the portal.
Does it deliver what my customer asks for?
Yes for product carbon footprint (PCF), customer datasheet, tender data and information prepared for your EPD. Third-party verification stays as it always was; Dcycle keeps the data and methodology traceable for that step.
What happens when I change a material or a supplier?
The calculation updates automatically across every SKU that shares that material or supplier. No redoing a study, no re-hiring. The previous version stays on record as an auditable history.
