Now available
We are introducing one of the most requested improvements in carbon footprint measurement: a single vehicle can now have consumptions of multiple fuels.
Until now, each vehicle in Dcycle had exactly one assigned fuel. Real vehicles often do not work that way: a diesel truck that also consumes AdBlue, a car that fills up with E5 petrol one day and E10 the next, or a plug-in hybrid that combines petrol and electricity. Before, you had to create duplicate vehicles or assign the consumption to a fuel that was not the real one. Not anymore.
How it works
- When creating or editing a vehicle, declare all of its fuels and mark one as primary.
- When recording a consumption, choose which fuel it corresponds to. If the vehicle has a single fuel, nothing changes: everything works exactly as it did before.
- Each consumption is calculated with its own fuel’s emission factor and assigned to the correct scope. For example, a plug-in hybrid’s electricity counts towards scope 2 while its petrol counts towards scope 1.
- Bulk import templates now include the fuel of each consumption, and GHG reports break emissions down by the fuel actually consumed.
Why it matters
Your fleet inventory finally matches reality: one vehicle, one record, all of its fuels. No more duplicates or approximate assignments. Your footprint becomes more accurate, your reports more reliable for audits, and uploading fleet data faster and simpler. The vehicles and consumptions you already have do not change at all: this improvement is fully compatible with your existing data. You will find it when creating or editing any vehicle in the Vehicles section.
