Fill the gaps in your Scope 3 employee commuting data
Low survey response rates are one of the most common barriers to accurate Scope 3 reporting. When only part of your workforce completes the commuting survey, your Category 7 emissions are systematically underreported, which can affect the integrity of your GHG inventory.
Dcycle now lets you fill that gap with a statistically sound estimation. The tool uses the average emissions per respondent to extrapolate the missing data, then records the result directly in your historical emissions as an estimated entry, fully traceable and audit-ready.
Built for holding companies and multi-subsidiary groups
If you manage multiple subsidiaries, the estimation tool adapts to your structure. You can choose between two modes:
- Consolidated: enter the total headcount for the whole group and Dcycle distributes the estimation across all subsidiaries automatically.
- Per subsidiary: enter individual headcounts for each subsidiary to get a more granular breakdown. In both cases, emissions are recorded in each subsidiary’s historical emissions, ready to be included in their respective reports.
Downloadable evidence and automatic GHG notes
Every estimation generates an Excel file with the full calculation detail: number of respondents, average emissions per employee, total estimated emissions and the methodology applied. This file is available for download at any time along with the data in Estimated Emissions.
If you have active GHG projects that include employee commuting emissions, Dcycle also automatically adds a methodological note to the report’s observations field, indicating that part of the data has been estimated by extrapolation.
How to access it
Go to the Employees section, click “Add data” and select “Estimate employees”. Choose between “One total for the whole group” or “One total per subsidiary”, enter the period, commuting type and total headcount, and your estimation will be ready in your historical emissions within seconds.
