What’s new
Introducing bulk import for full packaging catalogs. Previously, each row in the import file could only carry one material per packaging unit, forcing you to simplify or manually split units with multiple components, like a bottle with a body, cap, and label. Now, a single file can describe the complete bill of materials for every packaging unit, with no limit on the number of components.
- Upload hundreds of packaging units in a single file
- Describe every component of each unit: body, cap, label, film, and more
- Include the recycled content percentage for each component
- Re-upload the same file to update data without creating duplicates
How it works
The import template now uses a one-row-per-component format: unit-level fields (name, EAN code, packaging type, weight, volume) repeat across each of its component rows. That means a unit with three materials takes up three rows, all identified by the same name or EAN code. Download the updated template from the PPWR catalog import section and fill it in using data from your ERP, your suppliers, or manual entry. The same logic applies to catalogs extracted automatically from supplier documents, so results stay consistent no matter how the data arrives.
Why it matters
Meeting the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requires the full material breakdown for each packaging unit, not just its primary material. With this update, you no longer have to choose between a quick catalog upload and a complete one: you can do both at once. This significantly cuts manual work for organizations with large catalogs and improves the quality of the data feeding your compliance and recycled-content analysis.
This feature is now available for all PPWR projects. Download the new template from the catalog import section to get started.
