What’s new
The PPWR supplier portal took a big step forward this week, with four improvements pointing in the same direction: getting your suppliers to respond sooner and with less friction.
- Full-page form. The narrow side panel and the modal wizard are gone. Every declaration is now answered on a full page, with questions grouped by section on the left and covered units, attached documents, and progress always visible on the right.
- Attestation questions instead of lab data. We analyzed 30 real declarations of conformity and only 4 included measured lab values. The rest of suppliers attest compliance and attach their declaration as evidence. The questions now reflect exactly that: presence and compliance by selection, with the declaration of conformity required as backup documentation whenever the answer is positive, instead of asking for exact concentrations most suppliers cannot provide.
- One supplier per packaging unit. Every packaging unit is now assigned to a single supplier, so there are no duplicate or contradictory answers about the same unit from different suppliers.
- The supplier’s own language. A language selector is now available before login and inside the portal, across the 7 languages with full coverage, so each supplier works in the language they understand best.
How it works
Your supplier opens the project and sees the checklist of assigned units with their status. When they open a declaration, they select which units the same document covers, upload the declaration of conformity once, and answer by attestation: presence of the substance and compliance with the threshold. If the answer is positive, the system requires the backing document before letting them move on; if they had already attached it, they see it again when reopening the portal. Everything autosaves as they work, and final submission stays locked until every assigned unit is complete.
Why it matters
Each of these changes targets the same problem: suppliers who took time to respond because the form asked for something they could not provide, because they had to repeat the same answer unit by unit, or because they had to work in a language they did not fully understand. By aligning the questions with how suppliers actually certify in real life, and by removing repetition and language barriers, response time drops directly: you get the PPWR data for your projects sooner, with fewer back-and-forths, and with more suppliers completing the process on the first try.
