What it is
Dcycle now has a global search. Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) from any screen, or click the magnifier in the sidebar, and type a few letters: the platform takes you straight where you want to go, without walking through menus or remembering which section something lives in.
Until now, reaching a specific section meant navigating the sidebar, and finding a specific record meant opening its list and searching there. With global search, both work the same way: you type, you pick, you arrive.
What you can find
- Any section of the platform: Vehicles, Members, Decarbonization, a project tab or your organization settings.
- Your records: type a facility’s name and land on its page. Vehicles work by name or by license plate. Logistics hubs, events, funds and land management sites are searchable too.
- Your projects and your custom categories, by the names you gave them. The search is forgiving by design. It does not matter if you skip accents, drop a letter or use a synonym: searching for diesel takes you to Vehicles, and searching for electricity takes you to Facilities.
How it works
Open the search and, before typing anything, you will see your recent destinations: the last places you visited, one Enter away. It is the fastest way to get back to where you were working.
If you are inside a project, results adapt to that context and are labeled as part of the project, so there is no confusion between the general view and the project view.
Everything works from the keyboard: arrows to move, Enter to open, Escape to clear the search or close. And you will only ever see results your role has access to.
Why it matters
The platform keeps growing, and every new section is useful the day you need it but noise the rest of the time. A global search changes the question from where was this to what is this called, which is a much easier question to answer. Fewer clicks, less memorizing, and more time for the work that matters: your data and your decisions.
